Beko DFC05R10B Dishwasher

bekodw

You don’t have to wait long for the Beko DFC05R10B dishwasher that promises to leave your dishes sparkling with its Clean and Shine 65 Program. Will it really leave your dishes sparkling? We put this dishwasher through a series of tests to find out if it is really all it claims. Read our full expert review to see how it did.

Pros

  • Cleans well
  • Excellent drying
  • Energy and water efficient

Cons

  • Not easy to use
  • Leaves watermarks

This Beko dishwasher cleans well and does not use much water or energy and the main wash program doesn’t take long. It’s fairly quiet while running. However, this dishwasher is not easy to load or unload and there may be watermarks left on cutlery.

What is it?

This Beko dishwasher is a freestanding and designed to fit into your kitchen even under a worktop. It’s a full sized dishwasher that fits 12 place settings or 120 items in one load.

Unlike many modern dishwashers, this one does not have a lot of features. It doesn’t use sensors to monitor how dirty your dishes are to adjust the wash accordingly. There’s no delayed start feature or digital display panel so you won’t know how much time is left in the wash and drying cycles. Yet there are indicator lights to show which cycle the wash is in.

What’s it great at?

bekodw2

This dishwasher does clean well and has a short wash cycle, just 83 minutes from start to finish, so your dishes will be done and ready for the next meal. It also dries very well, even plastic. It is energy and water efficient so your utility bills won’t rise. The fact that it’s quiet is also a nice feature.

Is there anything I should watch out for?

  This Beko dishwasher has an “eco” program that uses 15% less electricity than the main wash program. However, the “eco” program uses more water and takes an hour and half longer than the main program to run the full cycle.

  The Beko DFC05R10B dishwasher leaves watermarks so if you are a stickler for shiny glassware, you’ll need to give them an extra polish.

The rack in this dishwasher is not adjustable. Large items will fit snuggly on the bottom rack making loading and unloading difficult.

The control knob has some issues that make it difficult to set the desired program. The knob is stiff and difficult to rotate and the pointer is not well-defined. The labels beneath the control are difficult to read from above making it difficult to find the desired program.

Should I buy it?

The Beko DFC05R10B dishwasher cleans and dries dishes well. However it is not very user friendly. If you are looking for a more user-friendly appliance, one from Best Buy would better suit your needs.

Beko DIN28R20 Dishwasher

bekodw3

  Beko’s DIN28R20 dishwasher is a fully integrated dishwasher with some added features. One feature is a “tray wash” system that the manufacturer claims will leave ovenware spotless. This is a nice feature, but is this dishwasher easy to load and unload? Is it easy to program? Read on to see if this dishwasher will make life in the kitchen easier.

  Pros

  • Cleans well
  • Excellent drying
  • Energy and water efficient, especially with the “eco” program

Cons

  • Lengthly programs
  • Leaves watermarks
  • Not easy to use

This dishwasher cleans well and we are impressed by its drying. Most items come out bone dry, even plastics. Its fairly quiet and easy to load. However, watermarks could be a problem.

What is it?

This is a full-sized fully integrated dishwasher from Beko. It is designed to be entirely hidden in a cabinet door in your built-in kitchen. This leaves the control panel which is on the top edge of the door unable to be seen when the door is closed. This model does hold 13 place settings or 130 items. It uses sensors to determine how dirty your dishes are and adjusts to clean them.

There are plenty of programs in this dishwasher including the usual intensive, quick, glassware, half load and eco settings. In addition, there are programs designed for trays and ovenware which would come in handy if you do a lot of baking or roasting. There is a time delayed start that can be used to set the machine in advance. There is a countdown timer on the display panel so you know how much time is left until your dishes are clean and dry and ready to unload. Unfortunately because this is a built in model you can’t see the timer display without opening the door to look.

The upper rack of this dishwasher is adjustable making it possible to fit larger items above or below.

What’s it great at?

This model dishwasher cleaned well in our tests. Most items were left clean so you shouldn’t find specks of porridge or spinach stuck to your dishes. It’s brilliant at drying, so most things come out bone dry, even plastic items.

The main program does not use too much electricity and water, but the “eco” setting is much more efficient. If you want to save energy and water, use the “eco” setting. This setting reduces the amount of electricity used by a third and uses 8 litres less of water per wash. The “eco” setting only takes an extra 10 minutes more than the main wash.

Is there anything I should watch out for?

Both the main and “eco” programs are slow and take about 3 hours to complete. Using the delayed start overnight will make this factor less inconvenient.

The control buttons are small, close together and slippery. You’ll need to be careful to press the right button when choosing the program you want to run. The main button scrolls through all 9 programs. If you miss it, you’ll have to scroll through all of them again.

Because this dishwasher tends to leave watermarks, if you are a stickler about streak-free glasses, this may not be the best dishwasher for you.

Should I buy it?

  Maybe. This dishwasher is reasonably priced, cleans and dries well and has a great “eco” program. However, you may want to check our filters to check whether there are any similarly priced integrated dishwashers that better suit your needs.

Hotpoint SIUF22111K Dishwasher Review

Worried about your small kitchen space? Hotpoint has you sorted with their slimline, freestanding dishwasher models. Some of these are:

  1. THE SIUF22111K

htpdw

What is the SIUF22111k?

This model of a dishwasher has been designed for smaller kitchens but at the same time it can hold a decent number of crockery and cutlery of up to 100 pieces. It is perfect for first timers as it has indicators for both the delay time and remaining time. It also has a wide range of programs to choose from.

How good is it?

htpdw2

The SIUF22111k is perfect when it comes to cleaning dishes but excellence comes in drying. You will never have to dry your dishes by hand. Compared to other slimline models, the SIUF22111k is reasonable when it comes to energy consumption. Changing to its eco program is even more effective as it reduces its water use by 1.5liters and energy use by 11%. You will no doubt love this.

What to look out for

Wilt all the excellence in drying, this dishwasher is not as good as the Best Buy dishwasher because it will still leave watermarks on cutlery. Those who like shining silverware will still end up using a tea towel. Although it is small in size, the dishwasher makes a lot of whooshing noise while in the filling phase. It also produces sloshing, lapping and gurgling sounds while in its washing stage. You might not find these very attractive.

Is it worth buying?

There are three major factors to put to consideration in this case: the noise, watermarks and the cost. If the price is enticing and you do not mind the watermarks or the noise, then you might consider getting it. You should however be warned that during our recent survey, Hotpoint dishwashers received a low reliability score compared to other brands. You are therefore advised to check the results before making a purchase commitment.

Bosch SKS 62E22EU Dishwasher Review

If you are an owner of a small-scale apartment, you will prefer to choose a compact dishwasher like the Bosch SKS 62E22EU. This little home helper can wash up to six place settings at once and can be conveniently placed on your kitchen table. So, what features make our experts pay attention to this dishwashing machine? Let’s consider this.

bshdw

ADVANTAGES: a desk-size dishwasher; quick cleanliness of dirty dishes;

DISADVANTAGES: some tricks within loading process; high level of noise; huge energy consumption

The manufacturers of Bosch haven’t found any solution to the problem of restricted access by the process of loading. This issue is typical for compact models of dishwashers. Anyway, there are no complaints about the primary functions such as cleaning and drying, since the experiments have been proven to be successful.

What is the Bosch dishwasher?

This is a desk-size model of dishwasher that is hardly bigger that a usual microwave. Its size is perfectly suitable for the surfaces of small kitchen tables. In addition, the model can take up to 60 items of dishes at a time.

Why do they take 60 items?

This is an average amount of dishes left after a standard dinner or party for six people.

Isn’t that the problem about the size?

Yes, this dishwasher has a compact size suitable for a small-scale kitchen. However, it possesses all features typical for full-sized electronics. The primary characteristics are a digital display showing the time remaining, and a delay timer that keeps your time if you need to turn on the dishwasher beforehand.

The machine uses the sensors in order to count the amount of water for every particular load. This function helps the consumer save water and energy.

What are the primary benefits about the machine?

bshdw1

We made the experiment loading the dishwasher with dirty dishes and got satisfactory results. Here we made certain conclusions about the primary benefits of Bosch dishwasher:

l the items were completely clean and dry, so one shouldn’t waste time with the tea towel in his hands;

l the tests performed on the electronics demonstrated that there were no streaks on glasses and cutlery after dishwashing;

l the in-built eco program saves time and energy;

What are the drawbacks of the dishwasher?

The tests performed over the machine showed the following drawbacks:

l the dishwasher has a high level of noise expressed with loud sounds through the process of washing. This can be particularly annoying when you try to listen to the radio or keep the conversation in the kitchen;

l the main program takes much water and electricity, so it is better to keep the eco-friendly power;

l the rack of the machine doesn’t get the full load, so it is difficult to take the items from the back. The cutlery basket is implemented into the machine, so the top of the washer prevents the user from taking small things directly from the basket

l the handle aperture has some sharp sides, so it can be something dangerous to use.

So, what is the final decision about the product?

This Bosch dishwasher is a good example of small-scale machines for little apartments. However, it’s quite noisy and not so easy to use. Thus, we recommend you to choose more efficient options.
